Help make a difference in the Pell City Community
Once a week volunteers gather at a local United Methodist Church to prepare, pack and deliver a nutritious and appetizing meal to homebound elderly or disabled persons in the Pell City area. Currently, we prepare 240 meals for persons in need. In addition, volunteers spend time with lonely residents. Funds for the food come from various donations from individuals, churches, community businesses and grants. Volunteers give up a Tuesday afternoon to help those in need of a hot meal. This ministry was begun by First United Methodist Pell City and carried out for 22 years before being adopted by Beacon of Pell City as a separate non-profit ministry from the church in 2023. We dream of someday expanding our services from once a week to five days a week.
